Wisp Mountain Resort is a popular ski and golf resort located in the town of McHenry, Maryland. The resort was founded in 1955 by Helmuth Heise, who initially operated a single ski slope on the mountain. In recent years, Wisp has continued to expand and improve its offerings, including the addition of a new lift and several new slopes. The resort has also invested in snowmaking technology, ensuring a reliable base of snow even in warmer weather.
