We're stoked that you're here and looking into Wisp'd Away for your next vacation! We want to share a little about who we are as your hosts, what brought us to Deep Creek Lake (DCL) and how our vision for the prefect lake retreat translates to your next DCL getaway.

We were literally from opposite sides of the globe. Dennys from Sao Paulo, Brazil and Idalia from Wroclaw, Poland and yet, our childhood expierences culminated in the same passion- to bring people together, to build memories and meaningful connection. Our families immigrated to the US when we were young children, and, although from very different backgrounds, we were raised with both our homes as the center for community in our neighborhoods'. Our mothers' kitchens' were a revolving door of neighbors and friends stopping by to talk, while the counter bowed with Brazilian and Polish dishes, the air always filled with delicious spices and smells and drinks and dancing never too far behind. From an early age, the warm of togetherness and hospitality was in our homes, and now we wish to cultivate the same space for others.

Dennys has been coming to DCL since he was a teenager and introduced Idalia to the area in 2016. With a shared love of being outside in nature, no matter the season, DCL quickly grew into a re-occuring vacation destination for us. When we welcomed our babygirl in 2019, we knew that we wanted to have a tranquil retreat to share with our family and friends and started looking for our future home in DCL. As avid riders of everything 2-wheeled, a passion for water-sports and long time yogis the 3 1/2 private acres of dirt trails, lake frontage and tranquil cove at Wisp'd Away was exactly what we were looking for.

We fell in love with our corner of the lake and whether its floating off the dock in the summer, mountain biking in the fall, skiing in the winter or sailing and fishing in the Spring we hope you will also fall a little more in love each and every time you visit us.
